Good to know
Public Reels only
Reels from private accounts, or that require signing in, cannot be processed. The Reel must be visible without logging in.
Compression can blur the image
Instagram re-encodes videos when they are uploaded, so an inserted image can come out softer or partly blended with its neighbors. If nothing shows up, raise the sensitivity.
Reels and video posts
Public video posts work too, as long as they last under three minutes.
Frequently asked questions
Can I extract a frame from any Instagram Reel?
From any public Reel shorter than three minutes. Private accounts and content behind a login are not supported.
Why is the image I saw not detected?
The platform's compression may have merged it with the frames around it, or the Reel may contain no inserted image. Raising the sensitivity in the settings shows more candidates.
Does it work with a link copied from the browser?
Yes. A link copied with the app's Copy link option and an address copied from instagram.com both work.
